    History of MONTREAL-NORD

    Montreal North is bordered by the Rivière des Prairies to the north and the Canadian National Railway to the south by J.-J. Gagnier west and Boulevard Albert- Hudon east.

    North of the island of Montreal, has created a Catholic parish in the name of the Visitation du Sault -au- Récollet. Sault -au- Recollect then a locality.

    The name of Sault -au- Récollet will be taken during erection of the municipality in 1845.

    The territory then face detachments:
    * 1896: Constitution of the village municipality of Ahuntsic by detachment of the parish of Sault -au Récollet.
    * 1897 Constitution of the municipality of the town of Saint- Joseph -de- Bordeaux by detachment of the parish of Sault -au- Récollet .
    * 1910: Constitution of the municipality of the village of Sault -au- Récollet .

    Finally, Montreal North is the name as adopted by the municipality of the parish in 1915 by the detachment of the eastern part of the parish of Saul -aux-Recollects. The ancient city of Montreal -Nord was merged with the city of Montreal on January 1, 2002.
