The construction ofa tramwayin 1892connecting thecity centerin Sault-au-Récollet ledurbanizationof the area,which continueduntil about 1930. It wasstillanoverwhelminglyresidential area: the only jobswere concentratedalong therailways,in the workshops ofMontrealorthose of theMontreal StreetRailway.
